Description

PROFILE/ FUNCTION

To be a key member of this dynamic team, you should have expertise in the design, creation, management and business use of large datasets.  You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions, and to build data sets that answer those questions.  You should be expert at designing, implementing and developing stable code for user facing reporting.  Above all, you should be passionate about working with data, discovering anomalies and trends, someone who understands data and can apply it to answer business questions and drive change. The Business Intelligence Reporting Team works with various business units to provide the key performance indicators and detailed information required to help make business decisions by identifying trends and patterns in stored operational data. 

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Statistical analysis on data and turn it effectively into actionable information to our customers both internal and external.
  • Design, develop and deploy business intelligence reporting solutions using a variety of BI reporting tools.
  • Work with other teams and core database engineers to develop and document business specific data marts and reporting aggregate strategy.
  • Assist in the Building and deploying of OLAP cubes (dimensions, measures, calculates members) based on business requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting environment issues.

Work with business units to enhance reporting environment and adapt to changes

Key Responsibilities:

12-15 years’ experience in delivering Business Intelligence content to end users using various front-end tools (Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Oracle. Should have played database architect role in at least two end to end large scale engagements, prior experience in designing data models, data loading processes. 

  • Expert knowledge in SQL and MDX programming required to generate queries, stored procedures, derived tables, and performance tuning
  • Experience in ETL/Reporting/OLAP tools/various DWH appliances like ETL design/metadata management
  • Understanding and implementation of Data Warehouses and Marts, multidimensional database architecture, Virtual cubes and perspectives
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle background & excellent SQL skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Very methodical so that they can devise strategies for making sense out of considerable amounts of data
  • Web development Experience (ASP, HTML & .NET MVC) (a plus)
  • Sharepoint BI integration tools experience a plus
  • Logical thinker who can work well in teams as well as individually
  • Requires an innovative individual who has initiative and flexibility to be open to ideas and concept
  • Proven ability to both analyse data, create high quality reports/presentation to senior management/ability to manage change and provide leadership in the area of complex data management solution.
  • The person needs to demonstrate functional and professional knowledge to ensure that objects are delivered within the stipulated time frame without any compromise on the quality of the deliverables.

MS Reporting/Analysis Services 2005 & 2008, SSIS and DTS packages,

SQL Server 2012/2016, Oracle 12c, FileZilla, WinSCP, SSH Secure Shell and WinZip tools, Various ETL Engines

 

Languages:

 

SQL / PL/SQL, XML, Oracle

Qualifications

Post-Graduate/Graduate (IT Qualification Required: BE IT/BCA/MCA preferred or/and Certified Course from reputed IT institutes)
